Step into the shadowed fortress-city of Broknul, the Dun-Vorgund Empire's last bastion against the encroaching Red Moon. In this realm of eternal twilight, salvation is a memory, replaced by the iron fist of imperial order and the looming shadow of the rock giant of Fáth. Here, humanity's protectors are 'Zealots' – half-men, half-monsters, bound to the ancient, parasitic Bri-Root, transforming them into formidable, albeit feared, warriors.
Episode 2, 'A Night at the Market,' plunges us into the bustling, yet wary, streets of Broknul as Zealot Trevor receives a formidable new Claymore, custom-forged for his immense strength. He is summoned by the grim Commander Rokt, a veteran Zealot deeply intertwined with the Bri-Root, for an urgent mission. A 'parasite' – a terrifying Émhor – has infiltrated the upper market district, draining victims of their blood, a shocking development within the city's hallowed walls.
Trevor and his companion, Boris, venture into the chaotic market. The Bri-Root, an extension of Trevor's own being, guides them, its screeching a monstrous siren clearing their path. The hunt leads them to a supply warehouse, reeking of carnage. Inside, they discover a hematovore Émhor, bloated with fresh kill. A brutal, lightning-fast confrontation ensues, resulting in the swift, gruesome death of Boris. Now, alone in the blood-soaked darkness, Trevor faces the monstrous Émhor, his new Claymore poised to deliver justice in a fight for survival against a creature that defies the city's defenses.
